
NP (SL) Limited has commissioned a state-of-the-art Squash court facility at the Myouhaung Officers’ Mess, Wilberforce.
This bold, generous act by the Company is to support the welfare and development of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).

The Chief Executive Officer of NP (SL) Ltd., the Director General of the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Gilbert Cooper, the Chief of General Staff, David Thomas Khouja, and other dignitaries graced the commissioning and handing-over event.

The CEO of NP (SL) Limited, Ing. Dr. Mohamed S. Kanu delivered insightful statements during the event. He emphasized the essence of the Company’s support to the RSLAF and other institutions. “Today’s ceremony marks not just the completion of a project but the strengthening of a partnership. It is a moment that underscores NP’s enduring commitment to the development, welfare, and well-being of our nation’s institutions, particularly those whose service and sacrifice safeguard our collective peace and security.“ Ing. Dr. Mohamed S. Kanu added that the Company’s support in building the facility for the RSLAF is a testament to the partnership between NP-SL and the RSLAF.

The CEO noted that the Company had previously built Squash facilities in schools, including The Sierra Leone Grammar School, Bo School, St. Edwards Secondary School and Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. “Each of these projects reflects our conviction that corporate success is measured not only by financial performance but by the positive and lasting impact we make on society,” Ing. Dr Mohamed S. Kanu affirmed, adding that the facility built in Myohaung is more than a recreational space. “It is an investment in the physical fitness, mental resilience and camaraderie of our officers. We believe that improved morale and wellness directly contribute to operational readiness, and that a strong, healthy and motivated force benefits not just the military but the entire nation.”
The Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Gilbert Cooper appreciated NP-SL for its support to the RSLAF in constructing a modern Squash facility. He noted that the Company’s effort reflects its shared commitment with the military to creating a conducive environment for RSLAF’s troops to thrive on and off military goals. “The state-of-the-art Squash facility is more than just a court; it is a hub of fostering teamwork, perseverance and excellence among our personnel. I want to commend NP-SL for its hard work, professionalism and vision in bringing this dream into reality,” Mr. Gilbert Cooper stated.
The Deputy President of the Sierra Leone Squash Association (SLSA), Mr. Edward Kargbo highlighted the role of NP-SL in popularizing the Squash game in the country. According to him, what NP (SL) Limited has done over the years for the Squash game is a novelty. He continued by encouraging not only school pupils, but also security personnel to play the game, as it boosts longevity and both physical and mental fitness.
