
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strides, NP (SL) Limited has commissioned the newly refurbished facilities at the Kingtom Police Primary School. This support adds to the many contributions the Company has made to schools and communities.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NP (SL) Limited, Dr. Mohamed Kanu, the Mayor of Freetown City, Yvonne Aki-Sawyer, Head of Estate, Sierra Leone Police, and Chief Education Officer, Freetown City Council, graced the handing over ceremony held at the school’s premises, Kingtom.

Speaking on the benevolent gesture, the CEO of NP (SL) Limited, Dr. Mohamed Kanu stated that education is at the heart of Sierra Leone’s development, and that Kingtom Police Primary School is crucial in shaping the future of children. “As a corporate institution, we not only adhere to our corporate social responsibility, but also extend magnanimous acts to schools and communities, giving back to society and contributing to various sectors, with education being a key focus.” The CEO also shared that the Company is elated to provide such support to the school and thanked everyone who made the project a reality.

In refurbishing Kingtom Police Primary School, NP (SL) Limited upgraded the school’s toilet facility, installed a water tower, completed the construction of the school’s unfinished building, constructed a new five-classroom building, and renovated the school’s head teacher’s office. Additionally, the Company provided new desks and chairs, and roofed and restored the school’s infant building, as well as the other buildings. These facilities and school furniture will ensure not only a conducive learning environment, but also a safe and hygienic atmosphere in the school. “This is the type of support we are known for, providing a sustainable and lasting solution, whether through a structure or a necessary facility,” Dr Mohamed Kanu affirmed.

Yvonne Aki-Sawyer, the Mayor of Freetown City, applauded NP (SL) for its altruistic act in supporting the School. She thanked the school’s staff and shared encouraging words with the pupils. The Mayor also shared what the Freetown City Council has done for the school and other schools, and made a commitment that the Council will continue to work with schools.
The Head Teacher, Kingtom Police Primary School, Mr. Abu Turay, applauded the Company for the generous support by championing to improve the status of the learning environment. With keen interest, the Head teacher expressed his delight and appreciation for the refurbishment of the school. “Your program has not only changed our school, but it has changed lives. Thank you, NP (SL) Limited. All the work carried out in our school is commendable.”

Additionally, pupils of Kingtom Police Primary School expressed their utmost appreciation to the Company and promised that they would do their absolute best in utilising the refurbished facilities.
