
Gendema, a town located on the southern tip of Sierra Leone, has been blessed with the first NP reseller state-of-the-art fuel station, marking a milestone in the energy sector. NP SL Limited embraced this venture in order to significantly maximise fuel accessibility across the country.
The commissioning of the Abyei Gas Station brought together key stakeholders, including local authorities, security personnel, regulatory bodies, and transport unions, all of whom lauded the initiative as a game-changer for the border town. The new fuel station is strategically positioned to cater to the growing demand for fuel from commercial drivers, bike riders, and local businesses.
Representing the CEO of NP SL, Mr. Vandi Bockarie, the Company’s Sales Manager emphasized NP’s commitment to providing high-quality petroleum products and improving service accessibility throughout the country. “Our goal is to ensure that all Sierra Leoneans, regardless of their location, have access to a reliable fuel supply. This facility is equipped with modern technology to ensure efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. We are confident that it will have a positive impact on the transportation and business sectors in Gendema.”

Additionally, Mr. Bockarie stated that the fuel station is a testament to development in the community. “It will enhance economic activities and make fuel readily available for the people, reducing the burden of traveling long distances for refueling.”
The Town Chief ,Alhaji Sherriff, expressed his gratitude to NP SL for investing in the town. “This fuel station is not just a business; it is a lifeline for our community. It will create jobs, boost trade, and make life easier for our people. We are grateful to NP SL for choosing Gendema as a location for this important project,” he stated.

The newly commissioned fuel station was met with enthusiasm by transport unions, particularly the Bike Riders union and Drivers union, whose members had long struggled with fuel shortages in the area. “This is a huge relief for us,” said a representative of the Bike Riders union. “We no longer have to travel miles in search of fuel, which will save us time and money.” Similarly, a spokesperson from the Drivers Union praised the initiative, highlighting its importance to the local transport industry. “We have faced difficulties accessing fuel, especially during shortages. With this new station, our work will be more efficient, and transportation will improve,” he stated.

The new fuel station is expected to drive economic growth in Gendema by creating jobs and supporting local businesses. The facility features multiple fuel dispensers, a mini-mart, and advanced safety systems to prevent fuel theft and ensure environmental compliance.
