NP (SL) Limited Resumes Fuel Operations at Kissy Terminal

NP (SL) Limited has actively resumed operations at its Kissy Terminal for reception, storage and distribution of fuel products across the Country.

The Company halted operations after the commencement of overhauling exercises to facelift the operation of gantries and the entire terminal. Following the undertaking of the face-lifting exercise early this year, NP (SL) Limited had to move loading exercises to Leonco on temporal basis where both companies were cohabiting for some time while steadily providing fuel supply for the people of Sierra Leone.

The newly refurbished NP terminal meets West African standards with two highly sophisticated gantries for supply of Marine Fuel Oil, Petroleum Motor Spirits (Petrol) and for Auto Gas Oil (Diesel) dispensing. The speed of machines installed have revamped operations for reception, storage and loading exercises.

Both gantries have been upped to dispense tons of products at massive speed compared to prior operations mode. Fuel pump houses have been upgraded to digitized mode capable of pumping millions of litres of products into BRVs (Tankers) in high-speed mode at an advanced and transparent level. Digital valves enable transparent electronic display of transactions in the control room with the help of electronic batch operators.

Systems installed have been upgraded from the initial four to six loading arms. With the successful upgrade of terminal, speed to market has been increased as more customers are flocking in as a result of the elimination of delay in time of delivery. With the face lift, NP’s Kissy Terminal is now capable of loading up to six BRVs each over ten thousand litres of fuel at a go in less than five minutes.

Tanks volume has been massively improved as product reception and storage level has increased. The terminal is now receiving products at above the average level. Storage tanks are now much safer than before and operating at a much safer condition with the presence of Safety and Loss Prevention Officers on the ground routinely monitoring operations daily.

The terminal is also now mostly operating on the National Grid with the completion and installation of 800kva transformer.

In terms of proactiveness to prevent and excellently battle fire occurrences, the newly refurbished Terminal has an upgraded reservoir improved to increased water levels and technology designed to monitor available water with fire hydrants and an upgraded fire House with four fire engines, which are frequently tested to establish readiness to respond to any threat situation.

With its concluded face lifting of Kissy Terminal which was embarked on to enhance customer satisfaction through digitalization of storage facilities and gantries, NP(SL) Limited is now more advanced and  poised to take on the market  in supplying seamless flow of energy products throughout the Country, more than ever before.
