For Premium Motor Spirits, otherwise known as Petrol, NP ensures that nothing but exclusively best quality is what is imported for distribution and supply in Sierra Leone and the four other West African countries where it is existent.
As a company that is very resilient and committed to offering the best in fuel products, NP imports petrol that meets international standards; Africa Regional Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO), Internationsal Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and local standards; Sierra Leone Standards Bureau’s Petroleum Products Testing Laboratory analysis.
In red color, NP’s petrol appearance is pure, clear and bright with no offensive odor to deter sales. Apart from pollution, Sulphur contents which are linked to the presence of Sulphuric acid contents in petrol, result into rust in crankcases and cylinders and made evident by etched wristpins, valve tappets, timing chains and other engine parts consequently leading to damage of engine entirely. In consideration of the life span of customer vehicles, NP imports petrol laced with Sulphur at the barest minimum possible (0.05%) and 0.10% maximum to ensure that not only vehicle parts function well, but also the life spans of vehicles are prolonged. And with a level of 80-85 Octane composition, the Company’s imported petrol caters for the average engine used in Sierra Leone.
NP’s petrol benzene levels is restricted to 5.0% maximum according to Standards Bureau specifications, so customers do not have to worry about human exposure to it. Essentially, after surpassing laboratory tests, NP’s petrol is maintained at the safest levels possible to minimize harm to humans.
NP’s Petrol Density is maintained at 15 degrees Centigrade ranging from 0.720 to 0.790 in accordance with SLSB requirements. And pertaining availability, with above 12 thousand metric tons of storage capacity, NP (SL) stores enough petrol to maintain consistent supply throughout the Country all year around. Additionally, with more than active 150 BRV (tankers) on standby, NP ensures steady transportation of petrol nationwide. Placing and authorization of orders for petrol supply take just about maximum of 10 minutes before supply/delivery is issued.
As a matter of fact, NP’s petrol acquires sales ranging from 800 to 900 thousand litres at peak times resulting from the noble reputation it has garnered from hundreds of customers that the Company has been proficiently supplying since its establishment.
